ITINERARY
Day 1: Reykjavik – Snæfellsnes Peninsula
We’re kicking things off with a trip to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, often called “Iceland in Miniature.”
• Snap photos of the famous Kirkjufell Mountain and nearby waterfalls.
• Stroll along Ytri Tunga Beach and try to spot seals lounging on the sand.
• Take in the stunning views at Arnarstapi and Hellnar, where cliffs meet crashing waves.

Day 2: Snæfellsnes – Akureyri
Today’s a scenic drive up to North Iceland with plenty of time to explore.
• Check out Hvítserkur, the famous “dragon” rock formation in the sea.
• Take in gorgeous views of the countryside and coastline as we head north.
• Arrive in Akureyri, Iceland’s charming northern capital. Wander around town, grab a coffee, or explore at your own pace.
• Optional: Soak in the relaxing Forest Lagoon, a geothermal spa surrounded by lush greenery.

Day 3: Akureyri – Húsavík – Ásbyrgi – Dettifoss – Mývatn
This day is packed with some of North Iceland’s greatest hits.
• Visit Húsavík, the whale-watching capital of Iceland (optional boat tour).
• Walk through the stunning Ásbyrgi Canyon, shaped like a horseshoe and surrounded by towering cliffs.
• Feel the sheer power of Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall.
• Wrap up the day in the Mývatn area, surrounded by volcanic landscapes.

Day 4: Full Day in Mývatn Region
Take a full day to soak in the unique beauty of Mývatn (literally, if you opt for the nature baths!).
• Walk through the bubbling mud pots and steaming vents of Hverir Geothermal Area.
• Hike around Krafla Volcano and the striking blue crater of Víti.
• Optional: Unwind in the Mývatn Nature Baths, Iceland’s less-crowded answer to the Blue Lagoon.

Day 5: Mývatn – Borgarfjörður Eystri
Time to head east and discover one of Iceland’s most scenic and remote spots.
• Drive to Borgarfjörður Eystri, a tiny village surrounded by dramatic mountains.
• Visit the Hafnarhólmi Puffin Colony, where you can get up close to these adorable seabirds.

Day 6: Borgarfjörður Eystri – Vatnajökull – Jökulsárlón
Get ready for glaciers and lagoons as we head south along the Eastfjords.
• Marvel at the beautiful coastline, dotted with fishing villages and rugged cliffs.
• Visit Vatnajökull Glacier, Europe’s largest ice cap, with optional hiking or ice cave tours.

Day 8: Vík – South Coast Highlights – Reykjavik
Finish your adventure with some of Iceland’s most famous spots before heading back to Reykjavik.

• Feel the mist of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss Waterfalls, two of Iceland’s most iconic cascades.
